Snails with homemade pesto

For all those who are lovers of the Mediterranean diet, but also of Italian cuisine, we present a recipe where the two cultures merge.

In order to make the homemade snails with pesto, we will need the following condiments:

  • A 400 g bag of refrigerated snails or a 400 g bag of VdeGust canned snails.
  • 3 handfuls of large basil leaves
  • 250 ml of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
  • 100 g pine nuts
  • 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • A pinch of salt


  • Start by putting all the ingredients to make the pesto sauce in a mortar and pestle or in a blender, and check that the sauce is a little homogeneous. If more liquid is desired, add more oil.
  • Once the sauce is ready, add it to the frying pan with the snails.
  • Mix everything together for 5 minutes ... and that's it!

Once all the steps have been followed, the screws are ready to serve and enjoy!
